Description of Purslane, Common (Portulaca oleracea):
Common purslane, also known as annual purslane, is a very common weed found in the lawn. It has a thick and reddish stem and rounded, succulent leaves that form clusters. It spreads and grows low to the ground. It's actually an edible plant and can be eaten fresh or cooked, but be sure to avoid eating it if you are spraying pesticides on the lawn.
