Description of Torpedograss (panicum repens):
Torpedograss is one of the most invasive species in Florida, Texas, and generally down south. It gets its name from the sharply pointed and torpedo-like tips. It grows up to 3 feet tall and has hairy sheaths on the upper margins of the leaves. It can re-establish itself from just a tiny fragment of it's a rhizome. The leaves are flat and rolled, with a white and waxy covering.
