Description of Buttercup, Tall (Ranunculus acris):
Tall buttercup has soft hairs on the erect stem and can grow up to 1 to 3 feet tall, hence the name tall buttercup. They have 5 to 8 petals (usually 5), thick roots, and leaves that are 1 to 3 inches long. Unlike annual buttercup, this species of buttercup is a true perennial. It spreads via rhizomes (roots under the soil).
