Description of Crownvetch (Securigera varia):
Crownvetch is sometimes mistaken for its non-poisonous counterpart, purple dutch clover. It spreads via creeping stems and a single plant can cover a 70 to 100 square foot area in 4 years. It blooms from May to August and spreads both through rhizomes and seeds.
