Description of Sowthistle, Spiny (sonchus asper):
Spiny sowthistle an an annual weed that may grow up to 6 feet in height. The leaves are greenish-blue and, when cut, the stems release a milky white sap. The flowers are about 1/2 to 1 inch across and are yellow. It's easy to remove this particular weed due to the fact that it is just a large taproot with a plant on top.
