Description of Amaranth, Spiny (amaranthus spinosus):
Also called spiny pigweed, prickly amaranth, thorny amaranth. Growing to 0.6 m (2ft) by 0.2 m (0ft 8in) Two spines at the base of the leaves at each node. The color of the forewing varies in its shades of brown and gray, often yellowish-brown and distinctly lighter distally. The forewing bears distinct bean-shaped and round spots centrally, linked by a small but sharply defined black bar.
