Description of Rice Flatsedge (Cyperus iria):
Rice flatsedge is a sedge that is often mistakenly identified as one of the nutsedges such as yellow nutsedge. It's found mostly in the southern United States. The leaves are shiny, dark green, and linear in outline but tapering to a point. Like other sedges, the stems are triangular and they grow between 8 inches and 2 feet in height.
