Description of Nightshade, Silverleaf (Solanum elaeagnifolium):
Silverleaf nightshade is a tap-rooting perennial that is very commonly found on roadsides in Texas. It can grow up to 3 feet in height and has a beautiful purple flower on top of the silvery-leafed plant. However, this beautiful plant has a dark side--it's highly poisonous to humans and cattle.
