Description of Camelthorn (Alhagi maurorum):
Canelthorn, not to be confused with the tree from Africa, is a deep-rooting aggressive plant that can quickly take over an area of turf, if left alone. It grows 1-1/2 to 4 feet all and has very small pinkish-purple flowers. It has sharp spines that are sharp enough to puncture car tires and will grow and penetrate through concrete.
