Description of Sod Webworms (Crambus):
Sod webworms, which are sometimes referred to as lawn moths, in the form of the moth do not damage turf. However, their larvae will eat grass leaves and stems at night and hide within burrows in the turf with a silk webbing. Adults randomly scatter their eggs in the grass during the day.
