June beetles, also referred to as May beetles or June bugs, are a plant-eating genus containing nearly 300 species of beetles. Their body is firm and varies between 1/2 and 1 inch in length. They feed on flowers and foliage at night, sometimes causing severe damage. Their coloring is red-brown and appear during warm spring evenings in the Northern Hemisphere.
