Description of Hyperodes Weevil (Listronotus maculicollis):
The Annual bluegrass weevil, also known as the Hyperodes weevil, is historically destructive of annual bluegrass and creeping bentgrass on greens and fairways in the northeastern US and has since spread south. Annual bluegrass weevil is a dark brown or black beetle, approximately 1/8" long, having grayish-yellow hairs and scales on the hind wings and thorax and a pronounced curved snout.
