Description of Stripe Smut (ustilago striiformis):
Stripe smut is common on turfgrass and generally leaves the grass with a pale green color and stunted. The grass also will have long black stripes of spore pustules. Bentgrass, Kentucky bluegrass, fescues, and Perennial ryegrasses are all susceptible to stripe smut.
According to the manufacturer approved labels: The following 3 fungicides, applied at the listed application rates, will control Stripe Smut.
