Pythium root rot is a problem in areas that are over-irrigated and have poor drainage capabilities. It can also occur when there are just extended periods of rainfall. Overall, the soil must remain saturated for several days or weeks for Pythium root rot to occur. The rhizomes, crows, roots, and stolons will appear greasy.
