Organic turmeric powder  is a component in curry powder and is used as a natural coloring for some types of mustard. In addition to adding taste depth and a pleasant color to Thai and other Asian meals, stews, and chilis, Brown says she loves the earthy flavor of turmeric on its own. She says, "It tastes great in chicken soup." Brown claims to get entire turmeric roots from the produce department and to freeze the pieces after placing them in freezer bags to maintain their freshness for a maximum of six months.
