Roughstalk Bluegrass Weed Killer

Poa trivialis Herbicide

Description of Bluegrass, Roughstalk (poa trivialis):
Poa trivialis, also known as Roughstalk Bluegrass or Poa triv, is an unwanted grassy weed where, like Poa annua, creates light green blotches in an otherwise beautiful and uniform patch of dark turfgrass. However, unlike Poa annua, it is a perennial; therefore it will come back every year unless eliminated fully. It spreads by stolons (roots on the soil's surface, as opposed to rhizomes which are below the soil surface), but can also produce seed.

There are three ways to differentiate Poa trivialis from Kentucky bluegrass:
  1. Poa trivialis has a lighter color.
  2. Poa trivialis tips are more pointier.
  3. Kentucky bluegrass does not spread by stolons("vines" above the surface), but rather rhizomes (roots under the surface).
