Description of Rapid Blight (labyrinthula terrestris):
Rapid blight is a cool-season turfgrass disease where irrigation water or the soil has a high level of salinity. The turfgrass appears darker and slightly sunken than the healthy turf. Brown-orange necrotic lesions start at the crown or cut blade tip, but may eventually cover the whole blade. The roots may appear without rot or discoloration.
